FULL-TIME NANNY needed in ELMHURST, IL 60126
This nice and easygoing family has 2 children: 5-year-old boy and a 3-year-old boy and is seeking an experienced, adaptive, and patient Nanny to stay with their family long-term. The 3-year-old has ZTTK Syndrome and uses a walker, wheelchair, and a communication device. The 5-year-old boy is working on regulating his emotions. He has support from his teachers and therapists. He is a bright, curious, and creative child who will do well with a Nanny who is patient and consistent.
Duties include: pick up children from school and take them to/from therapy appointments, imaginative play, play outdoors, go for walks, occasionally go to parks/playgrounds and the library, clean up after children/any messes that were made during the day, and prepare meals for the oldest and G-tube feeding for the youngest (mom will train Nanny on how to do this). Youngest child also has asthma and will need to be given his inhaler a couple times a day. Parents are divorced but co-parent really well. All care will be done at mom’s home (some days Nanny will need to pick up children from dad’s house). Mom works from home 1-2 days a week. The ideal candidate will be flexible, active, and kind.
Work days and hours
Monday: 7am-6pm
Tuesday: 7am-6pm
Wednesday: 7am-6pm
Thursday: 7am-5pm
Friday: 7am-5pm
NOTE: Nanny must be an experienced driver. Family will provide car for Nanny to use for regular appointments Monday-Wednesday (Nanny will just need to drop off mom/pick up mom from the train station) OR can use own car and will be reimbursed for mileage.
NOTE: Special needs experience is a plus but not a must! Open to candidates who are willing to learn how to care for him.
NOTE: Nanny must be able to lift the youngest child (30 pounds) and be able to take his wheelchair in and out of the house (without him in it) in order to board and get off the school bus each day.
Salary: To be discussed with Placement Counselor
