Duties include: Deep clean and maintain the large home--high traffic areas cleaned regularly and less used rooms cleaned on rotation, picking up clutter, load/unload dishwasher, family laundry, ironing, organizational projects, take trash out, prepare breakfast for kids in morning before school, meal prep--prepping kids' lunches, snacks, etc., prep of dinner and maybe some simple cooking 1-2x a week, grocery shopping, stock up on household supplies, running errands such as dry cleaning and returns, accepting deliveries, being there for maintenance services as needed, help with pick up/driving of kids after school 2 days a week, and help with party prep as needed--ex: prep space, get dinnerware out, etc. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, takes direction well and is comfortable with kids around in the afternoon (8 and 7). This person should be tech savvy--know how to text, answer emails, use apps, etc. and also know how to do basic cooking and make lunches.
**Travel: Family has a home in Indiana (about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Chicago). Housekeeper-Household Manager will need to come to this home in the summer--approx 10 weeks. During this time, the candidate doesn't have to work all 5 days--she can work 3 longer days instead. Candidate can use the family vehicle to drive to/from the Indiana home. There also is a guest house if candidate would rather stay the night there for the 3 nights.

The Director of Properties will support 4 families (all related to each other) in the Barrington area. This person will ensure that the properties (7 total) operate smoothly and anticipates the needs of the 4 families by providing hands-on service in several areas. This person is experienced, professional, organized, and detail oriented.
The Director of Properties will work closely with outside vendors to ensure that all needs are met for all of the properties. This person will also work closely with the Farm Manager.
Location: Will vary: In-person at the homes on the Barrington property, at the family office in Itasca, remote and some travel to the homes in Door County, WI.
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate and coordinate with the Farm Manager
- Oversee, maintain and inspect all designated properties (or hire and manage a local manager)
- Work with owners to schedule necessary workers and vendors--this can include: outside contractors, maintenance services , HVAC, plumbing, electrical, AV, security, exterior vendors (carpentry, siding, roofing, etc.), window cleaning, landscaping, etc.
- Prepare annual budget and report on the financial performance regularly
- Manage on-site staff (contractors and vendors)
- Establish and maintain vendor relationships (ex: landscapers, HVAC, etc.)
- Consolidate records, files and monitor service agreements
- Annual or biannual meeting with owners to review next 6-12 months of anticipated work/projects, preventative maintenance, etc.
- Travel to homes in Door County, WI periodically (Candidate will need to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage)
- Create a Household Manual for each household (with vendors, maintenance needed for each property, etc)
Qualifications and characteristics:
- 10 years of experience in a similar role
- A college degree is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Friendly, discrete, honest, reliable, and responsible
- Must work well both independently as well as in a team atmosphere
- Hard working and detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills
- Able to communicate effectively and work well under a deadline

This very nice family has 3 children: 13-year-old girl, 6-year-old girl, and 4-year-old girl and seeking a positive, punctual, and honest Housekeeper-Household Manager to stay with their family long-term. Family has 2 homes—one in Chicago (main location: 3,000 square foot condo) and one in Burr Ridge (8,000 square foot home however, Housekeeper will only need to clean 1 floor per visit).
This is a full-time position for 5 days and 40 hours per week.
Typical duties for Chicago home include:
- Help prep breakfast for family
- Pack lunches for the 3 children (including snacks and fill water bottles)
- Help children to get out of the door for school (encourage children to finish breakfast, comb youngest 2 children’s hair, help brush teeth, get their coats and shoes on)
- Take the children to school
- Put food away and wash all dishes and pots/pans
- Clean table, chairs, and floor around dining table
- Dry and store dishes
- Cleaning projects for the day (see example list—these tasks will be NOT be done every day but on a rotation basis)
- Hand rinse cleaning clothes and put to wash
- Fill humidifiers with distilled water
- Take out garbage (break down boxes if any)
- Clean floors
Typical duties for Burr Ridge home include:

This sophisticated couple is seeking a hardworking, flexible and experienced Estate-Level Housekeeper to stay with them for many years. The Housekeeper is expected to do what is necessary to maintain an impeccable appearance in the home. Housekeeper will work with 4 other Housekeepers and together will split up the duties that need to be done throughout the home. Housekeeper will also work with and report to the Household Manager.
The housekeeper has the overall responsibility of all aspects of general housekeeping, deep cleaning, following recipes and doing simple healthy cooking--this is split up with other housekeepers and can include breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, healthy drinks (ex: chicken, turkey, broths, veggies, etc.), ensuring pantry is stocked and going to the grocery store as needed, monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies, load/unload dishwasher, make beds, change bed linens, turning down beds when needed in the guest rooms, occasional errands, laundry, ironing, steaming as needed, logging items to/from dry cleaners, polishing silver, and additional tasks such as preparing for events and guests and notify the Household Manager of any issues that arise in the home. It's a large residence--15,000+square feet Luxury Residence.
