**Experience working in an estate or a formal household is highly preferred.
This sophisticated couple is seeking a hardworking, flexible and experienced Estate-Level Housekeeper to stay with them for many years. The Housekeeper is expected to do what is necessary to maintain an impeccable appearance in the home. Housekeeper will work with 4 other Housekeepers and together will split up the duties that need to be done throughout the home. Housekeeper will also work with and report to the Household Manager.
The housekeeper has the overall responsibility of all aspects of general housekeeping, deep cleaning, following recipes and doing simple healthy cooking--this is split up with other housekeepers and can include breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, healthy drinks (ex: chicken, turkey, broths, veggies, etc.), ensuring pantry is stocked and going to the grocery store as needed, monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies, load/unload dishwasher, make beds, change bed linens, turning down beds when needed in the guest rooms, occasional errands, laundry, ironing, steaming as needed, logging items to/from dry cleaners, polishing silver, and additional tasks such as preparing for events and guests and notify the Household Manager of any issues that arise in the home. It's a large residence--15,000+square feet Luxury Residence.
A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Have related experience and expertise in similar position; working in an estate or high-level home
- Excellent communicator, fluent in English
- Reliable, dependable, and flexible
- Courteous, discreet, and calm demeanor
- Strong attention to detail, self-directed and highly organized
- Professional with a good, friendly manner, hard-working and pleasant to be around
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Willing and able to take direction well and work well with others
- Thorough knowledge of general and deep household cleaning, laundry and organization of a luxury residence
- Strong physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to reach, kneel, bend and use step stool or ladder
- Seeking longevity/long term commitment (Family has had other employees for 10+ years in the home)
NOTE: Housekeeper must wear a uniform in the home and hair in a bun or pony tail. When Housekeeper is preparing food, a hair net and gloves will be required as well.
*Housekeeper must be an experienced driver with clean record and can use a family vehicle for errands needed.
This is a long-term position for 5 days and 40 hours a week.
Work days and hours:
40 hours per week. With a 30 minute lunch break.
Hours are typically either: Monday-Friday: 7am-3:30pm or 12pm-8:30pm. However, flexibility with the schedule is definitely needed as schedule can shift a bit depending on the week.
Flexibility also to help out with extra hours as needed-ex: later evenings, weekends, etc. during times where the family is having events, parties, etc.
**Some holidays might be required to work (Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July) and will be paid overtime.
**Travel to their other homes in: Chicago and Lake Geneva would be a plus-but not a must.
Salary: $35 per hour BEFORE TAXES

The ideal candidate will be very creative and engaging/not on their phone during the day, happy, kind and punctual as both parents are Dr's. Nanny must also be comfortable following their parenting philosophy-- gentle parenting approach with boundaries--talking through feelings, etc.
**Nanny must be CPR certified or willing to get certified if hired and be vaccinated for all necessary vaccines + the flu shot during flu season.
