FULL-TIME DIRECTOR OF PROPERTIES/PROPERTY MANAGER/HOUSEHOLD MANAGER needed in BARRINGTON, IL 60010

The Director of Properties will support 4 families (all related to each other) in the Barrington area. This person will ensure that the properties (7 total) operate smoothly and anticipates the needs of the 4 families by providing hands-on service in several areas. This person is experienced, professional, organized, and detail oriented.

The Director of Properties will work closely with outside vendors to ensure that all needs are met for all of the properties. This person will also work closely with the Farm Manager.

Location: Will vary: In-person at the homes on the Barrington property, at the family office in Itasca, remote and some travel to the homes in Door County, WI.

Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:

• Collaborate and coordinate with the Farm Manager
• Oversee, maintain and inspect all designated properties (or hire and manage a local manager)
• Work with owners to schedule necessary workers and vendors--this can include: outside contractors, maintenance services , HVAC, plumbing, electrical, AV, security, exterior vendors (carpentry, siding, roofing, etc.), window cleaning, landscaping, etc.
• Prepare annual budget and report on the financial performance regularly
• Manage on-site staff (contractors and vendors)
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships (ex: landscapers, HVAC, etc.)
• Consolidate records, files and monitor service agreements
• Annual or biannual meeting with owners to review next 6-12 months of anticipated work/projects, preventative maintenance, etc.
• Travel to homes in Door County, WI periodically (Candidate will need to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage)
• Create a Household Manual for each household (with vendors, maintenance needed for each property, etc)

Qualifications and characteristics:

• 10 years of experience in a similar role
• A college degree is a plus
• Valid driver's license
• Friendly, discrete, honest, reliable, and responsible
• Must work well both independently as well as in a team atmosphere
• Hard working and detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills
• Able to communicate effectively and work well under a deadline
• Professional but also comfortable in a farm-life environment

Schedule: 

Monday-Friday: 8:30am-5pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)

*Flexibility with schedule may be needed on occasion

This busy family is seeking an experienced, reliable and independent Housekeeper to stay with their family long-term. Duties include: Deep clean and maintain the 5,000 square foot home, make beds, change bed linens, load/unload dishwasher, family laundry, ironing, organizational projects, occasional errands, grocery shopping and meal prep. The ideal candidate will pay attention to detail, is comfortable with children around in the afternoon and is professional. Parents work from home. 

Schedule: 

Monday-Friday: 9am-5pm

NOTE: Housekeeper will need to use own vehicle for errands.

PART-TIME NANNY-HOUSEHOLD MANAGER needed in GLENCOE, IL 60022

This loving family has 1 child: 3-year-old girl and is seeking a mature and experienced Nanny-Household Manager who enjoys cooking to stay with them long-term. Duties will include a mix of nanny and household management duties. These can include: care for 3 year old (doing activities, arts and crafts, reading books, playing toys, engaging in learning activities, etc.), bathing child and getting her ready for bedtime when needed, grocery shopping, setting the table, cooking dinner (simple, healthy meals--examples, chicken, salmon, etc.), clean up after dinner, load/unload dishwasher, family laundry, tidy up common areas and run errands as needed. Parents are home during the day. When parents are with the child, nanny should be doing household duties. The ideal candidate will be reliable, trustworthy and proactive.

**POSITION WILL START THE FIRST WEEK OF FEBRUARY

This is a long-term position for 4 days and 16 hours a week.

Work days and hours:

Monday: 3:30pm - 7:30pm

Wednesday: 3:30pm - 7:30pm

Friday: 3:30pm - 7:30pm

Sunday: 1:30pm-5:30pm

FULL-TIME HOUSEKEEPER-HOUSEHOLD MANAGER needed in CHICAGO, IL 60607 (WEST LOOP) AND BURR RIDGE, IL 60527

**UPDATED SCHEDULE & MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT**

This very nice family has 3 children: 13-year-old girl, 6-year-old girl, and 4-year-old girl and seeking a positive, punctual, and honest Housekeeper-Household Manager to stay with their family long-term. Family has 2 homes—one in Chicago (main location: 3,000 square foot condo) and one in Burr Ridge (8,000 square foot home however, Housekeeper will only need to clean 1 floor per visit).

This is a full-time position for 5 days and 40 hours per week. 

Typical duties for Chicago home include:

• Help prep breakfast for family 
• Pack lunches for the 3 children (including snacks and fill water bottles)
• Help children to get out of the door for school (encourage children to finish breakfast, comb youngest 2 children’s hair, help brush teeth, get their coats and shoes on)
• Take the children to school
• Put food away and wash all dishes and pots/pans
• Clean table, chairs, and floor around dining table
• Dry and store dishes
• Cleaning projects for the day (see example list—these tasks will be NOT be done every day but on a rotation basis)
• Hand rinse cleaning clothes and put to wash
• Fill humidifiers with distilled water
• Take out garbage (break down boxes if any)
• Clean floors

Typical duties for Burr Ridge home include:

• Clean out fridge
• Take out garbage cans to the curb
• Cleaning projects for the day (see example list—these tasks will be NOT be done every day but on a rotation basis)

Example of cleaning projects include:

• Standard cleaning (such as bed linens, windows, dust, vacuum, bathrooms, oven, fridge, kitchen, etc.)
• Interval deep cleaning of the above
• Deep clean cabinets
• Interval deep cleaning of cabinets 
• Interval washing of humidifiers
• Light closet organization of girls’ clothing
• Taking things into/out of building storage unit.
• Making list of cleaning supplies when low
• Laundry, ironing, hand wash
• Stain removal 
• Care of wool, cashmere, linen etc.
• Refrigerator/Pantry organization
• Dry cleaning drop off/pick up

Mom works from home on occasion. The ideal candidate will be professional, responsible, and take initiative. Must be careful to avoid damage to furniture/household items/clothing whenever possible.

This loving family has 1 child: 1 month old baby girl and is seeking an experienced, caring and calm Nanny to stay with them long-term. Duties include: newborn care (diapers, feeding, naptime),bathe child as needed, get child dressed, prepare bottles, wash/sterilize bottles, tidy up common areas, load/unload dishwasher,  baby's laundry, play and engage in several developmentally appropriate activities with baby (tummy time, etc.), read books, sing songs, take child on walks, to parks, library etc., prepare food for baby when she's old enough to eat solids,  Nanny must have newborn/infant experience, be CPR certified or willing to get certified if hired and be fully vaccinated (including Flu, COVID and TDAP).  The ideal candidate will be engaging, knowledgeable in early childhood development and reliable. This is a long-term position for 5 days and 43 hours a week.

Mom stays home and there are 2 children in the home that are in school during the day. The ideal candidate will be reliable, a self-starter and an excellent communicator.

Work days and hours:(24 hours/week)

3 days per week: 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm 

Family has a medium size dog--Belgian Malinois
 

Salary: $32-$38 per hour

Duties include: newborn care (feeding, diapers, naptime), talking to him, cuddling, and going outdoors. The family does not believe in the cry it out method. Family has a Nanny for 2 older children. Care for older children will only be needed if their Nanny is off for the day. Must be CPR certified or willing to become if hired.  Dad works from home a couple days a week. MUST HAVE A LOT OF NEWBORN EXPERIENCE! The ideal candidate will be nurturing, active, and punctual.

FULL-TIME HOUSEKEEPER (ESTATE-LEVEL) needed in WINNETKA, IL 60093
 

**Experience working in an estate or a formal household is highly preferred. 

This sophisticated couple is seeking a hardworking, flexible and experienced Estate-Level Housekeeper to stay with them for many years. The Housekeeper is expected to do what is necessary to maintain an impeccable appearance in the home.  Housekeeper will work with 4 other Housekeepers and together will split up the duties that need to be done throughout the home. Housekeeper will also work with and report to the Household Manager. 

The housekeeper has the overall responsibility of all aspects of general housekeeping, deep cleaning, following recipes and doing simple healthy cooking--this is split up with other housekeepers and can include breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, healthy drinks (ex: chicken, turkey, broths, veggies, etc.), ensuring pantry is stocked and going to the grocery store as needed, monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies, load/unload dishwasher, make beds, change bed linens, turning down beds when needed in the guest rooms,  occasional errands, laundry, ironing, steaming as needed, logging items to/from dry cleaners, polishing silver, and additional tasks such as preparing for events and guests and notify the Household Manager of any issues that arise in the home.  It's a large residence--15,000+square feet Luxury Residence.

A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

NOTE: Housekeeper must wear a uniform in the home and hair in a bun or pony tail. When Housekeeper is preparing food, a hair net and gloves will be required as well.

Hours are typically either: Monday-Friday: 7am-3:30pm or 12pm-8:30pm. However, flexibility with the schedule is definitely needed as schedule can shift a bit depending on the week.

Flexibility also to help out with extra hours as needed-ex: later evenings, weekends, etc. during times where the family is having events, parties, etc.

**Some holidays might be required to work (Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July) and will be paid overtime.

**Travel to their other homes in: Chicago and Lake Geneva would be a plus-but not a must.



Salary: $35 per hour BEFORE TAXES
